The Keep
Located in a private residential setting, this custom home is defined by refined architecture and a minimalist material palette that prioritizes clarity, comfort, and livability. From the earliest stages, the goal was to integrate lighting and residential technology in a way that felt intentional yet unobtrusive, enhancing the home’s spatial qualities while allowing the architecture itself to remain the focal point.
The primary challenge was achieving a layered architectural lighting design without introducing visual clutter. With clean lines, open sightlines, and carefully selected finishes throughout the home, every lighting and technology decision needed to be precise. The system also had to support a range of daily activities and moods, from quiet mornings to evening entertaining, while remaining intuitive for the homeowners.
A comprehensive lighting and control strategy was developed to balance form and function. High-performance architectural downlighting was used to establish a consistent ambient layer, while adjustable fixtures and specialty lighting provided focused illumination and visual interest. Integrated tape lighting and custom linear elements were carefully concealed to add warmth and depth without distracting from the architecture. All lighting and shading systems were unified through a centralized control platform, allowing scenes to transition smoothly throughout the day.

The completed residence feels calm, cohesive, and effortlessly livable. Lighting enhances architectural details and material textures without overpowering them, creating a warm and balanced environment across every space. The integrated control system allows the home to shift seamlessly from day to night, supporting both everyday routines and special gatherings with ease. The result is a residence where technology quietly elevates the experience rather than defining it.
