Conference Room Upgrades at South Adams County Fire Department
Logic Integration is proud to have been selected to upgrade the conference room facilities at the South Adams County Fire Department (SACFD). This case study outlines the comprehensive solutions provided to enhance the functionality and usability of the SACFD's conference rooms, focusing on seamless integration of advanced audio-visual systems to facilitate virtual meetings, presentations, and training sessions.

The SACFD conference room had no existing audio-video system for video conferencing, requiring a complete overhaul to meet modern communication needs. The project required the integration of various technologies while maintaining ease of use and compatibility with existing systems. Key challenges included the need to re-use and re-locate existing displays, ensuring smooth integration of owner-furnished equipment, and addressing audio reinforcement within the room.
Logic Integration proposed and executed a detailed plan to upgrade the SACFD conference room, implementing state-of-the-art audio and video solutions. The plan included the installation of new displays, audio and video conferencing equipment, and control interfaces, all tailored to meet SACFD's specific requirements.
The existing display was relocated to a new position, and an additional owner-furnished display was installed on a side wall, configured to mirror the primary display. A sliding equipment tray was installed behind the front display to house the digital signal processor (DSP) and amplifier, ensuring neat and efficient cable management.
A comprehensive audio and video conferencing solution was implemented, including a USB pan-tilt-zoom camera mounted on the glass-walled side of the room. This setup allowed for high-quality video capture and flexibility in camera control through remote access. The system utilized a soft codec (Zoom or other software-based platforms) for video conferencing, with laptops connecting to the camera and audio system via USB connections at the table.
The audio system was enhanced with the installation of a DSP programmed for optimal performance, four in-ceiling speakers for audio reinforcement, and a power amplifier to drive the speakers. Two in-ceiling microphones with LED status rings were installed to ensure clear audio capture for remote participants.
