Schomp Hyundai Lutron Motorized Shades Installation
Schomp Hyundai wanted to create a more comfortable and visually appealing environment in its showroom and offices by installing motorized shades. The primary challenge was managing sunlight exposure throughout the day in spaces with large windows that faced multiple directions (east, south, and west). In addition to improving aesthetics, the goal was to reduce glare, optimize energy efficiency, and provide a more pleasant customer experience.

The system also needed to integrate seamlessly with Schomp Hyundai’s existing Tridium Niagara control system, which manages other automated elements of the building. Another challenge was ensuring that the network infrastructure could support the installation and ongoing operation of the motorized shades, given the complex IT setup in the building.
Logic Integration designed and installed a Lutron motorized shade system that addressed the specific needs of Schomp Hyundai. Custom Lutron shades were installed in both the showroom and office spaces, featuring precise motorization for effortless control of light and privacy. The Lutron system was chosen for its reliability, quality, and ease of integration with third-party systems.
In coordination with the client’s IT team, Logic ensured that the motorized shades could communicate effectively with the existing Tridium Niagara control system. The shades were programmed to automatically raise and lower based on the time of day, reducing the need for manual adjustments and ensuring optimal light control throughout the day.
To manage the additional IT and power demands, Logic installed an Access Networks switch and other components to provide reliable connectivity and power for the new system. Additionally, a robust remote monitoring and support infrastructure was implemented to ensure smooth operation and minimal downtime.
- Lutron Motorized Shades: Custom motorized shades from Lutron were installed throughout the showroom and offices, offering precision light control, improved energy efficiency, and enhanced comfort.
- Integration with Tridium Niagara: The shades were seamlessly integrated into Schomp Hyundai's existing Tridium Niagara system, allowing for unified control of building automation.
- Access Networks ANX7150 Switch: Installed to provide reliable network connectivity for the Lutron system and related equipment.
- WattBox Power Conditioning: Ensured stable power delivery to the shade control system, protecting sensitive equipment from potential power surges or interruptions.
- OVRC Pro Hub: Enabled remote support and monitoring of the motorized shade system, allowing for quick issue resolution and regular maintenance.
The installation of Lutron motorized shades at Schomp Hyundai resulted in significant improvements to both the customer and employee experience. The automatic shade control optimized the amount of natural light entering the space, reducing glare and enhancing comfort for customers and staff alike. The shades also contributed to energy savings by reducing solar heat gain, which lessened the demand on the HVAC system.
The seamless integration with the existing Tridium Niagara control system allowed for unified management of the building's automation, giving Schomp Hyundai greater control over their environment with minimal manual input. The robust infrastructure, including the Access Networks switch and WattBox power conditioner, ensured that the system would operate reliably over time. Finally, the remote monitoring and support provided by Logic Integration ensured that any issues could be quickly identified and addressed, minimizing downtime.
