Iliff School of Theology – AV Systems Transformation for Hybrid Education
The Iliff School of Theology, a renowned graduate theological institution in Denver, partnered with Logic Integration to transform its aging audio-visual infrastructure into a state-of-the-art, future-ready platform for hybrid education, collaboration, and video production.
The project encompassed two mission-critical environments: the historic Shattuck Hall auditorium and a primary teaching classroom. Iliff’s leadership wanted to empower faculty and students with modern tools to support seamless learning, dynamic presentations, and Zoom-based virtual participation—all while preserving existing architectural elements and leveraging select components already in place.
Logic Integration delivered a fully customized AV solution designed to balance simplicity, flexibility, and technological sophistication.

- Replace outdated AV systems with scalable, networked infrastructure.
- Support hybrid learning, video conferencing, and production workflows.
- Improve intelligibility and audio pickup across large rooms.
- Integrate smoothly with Iliff’s internal network and IT policies.
- Provide intuitive control systems for faculty and staff.
- Future-proof the facility for evolving academic and presentation needs.
Shattuck Hall: Intelligent Video, Audio & Control
To transform the large lecture and presentation space in Shattuck Hall, Logic Integration engineered a high-performance system centered around Crestron’s Automate VX Pro with six PTZ cameras. This voice-activated, multi-camera switching system captures speakers and audience members automatically, removing the need for manual camera operation during lectures or events.
- Crestron UC-CX100-Z Flex System for Zoom Rooms integration.
- Six Crestron IV-CAM-P20 PTZ cameras for full-room auto-switching overage.
- Shure MXA920W beam-forming ceiling microphones for crystal-clear audio capture.
- QSC Core 110F DSP for precise audio routing and processing.
- Origin Acoustics pendant loudspeakers and subwoofers for rich, even sound coverage.
- Epson EB-PU2010W projector paired with a reused motorized screen and a new ELPLM15 middle-throw lens.
- Crestron RMC4 and HD-MD4X2 switchers for seamless control and video outing.
- Araknis PoE switches and Wattbox IP power conditioners for network and power integrity.
- Crestron touch panel for one-touch control of the entire system.
The classroom upgrade focused on enabling collaborative, Zoom-powered instruction in a compact environment.
- Yealink 86” MeetingBoard with touchscreen functionality and built-in Zoom Room software.
- Yealink external PTZ camera for enhanced framing and expanded view angles.
- Sony 65” BRAVIA secondary display for content mirroring.
- Strong large-tilt mounts for both displays, preserving sightlines and aesthetics.
- Wattbox surge protection and clean power delivery at both locations.
With simple factory remote controls and a unified interface on the MeetingBoard, professors can walk in and begin teaching with minimal setup or training.
- Architectural Constraints: Historic building features limited where and how equipment could be mounted or wired.
- Hybrid Integration: Coordinating Iliff’s own video production gear with new Crestron camera control systems.
- Supply Chain Disruptions: Delays in certain hardware availability required creative substitutions and schedule flexibility.
- IT Coordination: Ensuring all AV gear was network-compliant and secure under Iliff’s internal IT governance.
- Custom Design Validation: Theoretical designs needed to be proven and optimized during hands-on commissioning and tuning on‑site.
- Hybrid-Ready Spaces: Professors can now lecture to both in-room and remote students without worrying about tech obstacles.
- Professional Video Capture: Automated multi-camera switching delivers a polished broadcast experience with zero operator involvement.
- Crystal-Clear Audio: Shure’s beam-forming arrays ensure speakers and students are heard from any seat in the house.
- Scalable Infrastructure: With robust DSP, power conditioning, and AV-over-IP architecture, the system is ready for future expansion.
- Positive Faculty Experience: Control interfaces were praised for their simplicity, and faculty were trained within minutes.
“Logic Integration delivered an intuitive, high-performance AV solution that exceeded expectations. Their ability to work around architectural and network constraints while still delivering on the promise of hybrid education was impressive.”
