Visit Denver – Convention Center


About This Project

The Colorado Convention Center is owned by the City and County of Denver but is privately managed by SMG since 1994 [3] The convention center opened in June 1990 with an exhibition hall, 5 meeting rooms and a main ballroom, totaling 800,000 square feet.In 2013, 14 million visitors spent $4 billion in Denver, contributing $976 million in state and local tax revenues. Visit Denver’s goal is to bring conventions and leisure visitors to Denver for the economic benefit of the City, the community and our membership.The purpose of this visitor information center in the convention center is the guide tourist and tourism the local events and things to do. Since opening, the Convention Center hosts over 400 events per year.


Integrate a custom video wall with digital signage with remote management. Design and install a multi-display system in with the Colorado Convention Center. The system must be on 24 hours a day seven days a week. The interface must be easy-to-use for a first-time user with very little IT support or instruction.


Planar PS5580 HD LCD displays were chosen for all displays due to 24x7 - 365 days per week usage. Networking backbone is Pakedge POE and WAPS. Middle Atlantic rack’s were used to facilitate all the equipment and cool the equipment. Crestron HDMI over HDBaseT Extenders was used for HD Signal distribution. Digital signage was done by Four Winds Denver. System is remotely managed and controlled by Four Winds I how are interactive.
